Pure Drivetrain Solutions releases C6X performance steels for performance wet paper friction applications. The C6X series steels are a result of our team of experienced engineers and technical personnel not accepting the “its good enough” or “its just the way it is” phrases.

The C6X series steels base material is that of the highest grade, the heat treatment and finishing process’ are what make them gods among mortal men in comparative. The C6X series steels finishing process allows us to target a very specific Ra finish and hardness along with creating a layer of carbon that encases the working area of the steel plate.

The C6X series steels have many advantages and are not limited to the reduction of hot spotting, coning or warping under extreme circumstances which leads to the improved durability of the clutch packs overall life. The C6X series steels have a distinct “discoloration” from the high presence of the carbon layer that is a brought forth through our very unique and methodical processing of each individual steel plate. The process is utilized to form of boundary layer of protection of the inner core, the carbon layer is used to aide in low speed harshness and to increase the coefficient of friction when mated with our FSR clutch plates.
